Job Observation

A job observation, aka – a day in the life, a job shadow, shift follow, or working interview – is a common part of many interviewing and hiring processes. It’s an interactive experience where company representatives are able to see the candidate in action. It’s also a chance for the candidate to see a realistic view of the company.

A job observation is an opportunity for both sides to “test drive” before making any commitments.

Organize your thoughts. Reflect upon your past experience. Dress as directed. Bring slip-resistant shoes with you. Take notes. Once the shift follow is complete, you will have additional information to review.
